Oxidative Stress: new research suggests it may be key in ME/CFS & Long COVID. Can nutrition help?
Could oxidative stress be an underpinning mechanism in ME/CFS and Long Covid. Research published last year found evidence of increased oxidative stress in immune cells of people with both ME/CFS and Long COVID and researchers suggest oxidative stress may be a possible cause of these conditions. We describe the implications of this research and also show how diet, particularly a Mediterranean diet, may reduce the impact of oxidative stress.

Long COVID, gut health, and immunity: understanding the connection and how nutrition can help
Research shows that the gut plays a central role in both the persistence of symptoms and recovery in Long Covid. Recent research highlights how chronic inflammation and gut dysbiosis — an imbalance of gut microbes — contribute to Long COVID’s systemic effects. Fortunately, evidence also suggests that targeted dietary strategies may help to restore gut balance and strengthen immune resilience.
